Attempted Attack against Western Targets in Kenya

  • On 19 June 2012, two Quds Force operatives were detained in Nairobi, Kenya: Ahmad Abolfathi and Seyed Mansour Mousavi.
  • The pair belong to Unit 400 and disclosed during questioning that 15kg of explosive materials which were cached in Mombasa were intended to be used in attacks against various sites in the country, including U.S., UK, Israeli, and Saudi interests.
  • The two Quds Force operatives were convicted by the Kenyan court and sentenced to life imprisonment.
